Kristen + Chris - Coral Estate Curacao Wedding

Chris and Kristen had a chance meeting in a bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in May 2009, where she lived and he was visiting for work. The two hit it off instantly and spent the night talking, laughing, and sharing their first dance on the bar’s balcony. They dated long-distance, each taking trips to visit the other, until she moved to Washington, DC at the end of that year.

They learned of their shared love for politics during their first date at a sushi restaurant in Baton Rouge. Kristen, a Democrat, noticed instantly that Chris was an incredibly passionate Republican, and he found out quickly that she would never give him an edge during their intense political debates. It didn’t take long for Kristen to fall in love with Chris’ passion, loyalty, humor, and salt and pepper hair! And, before Chris knew it, he was in love with Kristen and her quick-wit, strength, generosity, and sassiness!

Since their fateful meeting over 7 years ago, they have discovered their love for traveling to Caribbean islands, especially Curacao where they first visited in 2011 on their first vacation as a couple. They loved the island, it’s people, and the beaches so much that they came back two more times before getting married here this August!
