Nanda and Ruud met during her vacation, a vacation in which she wanted to see if Curacao had everything she wanted and needed to move to the island. They became friends, but they went on with their busy lives. Although a relationship was not specifically one of the things on her to-do-list, when she went back to The Netherlands, they decided to explore the feelings they had for each other a bit more. She quickly packed up her belongings and by the time she returned to Curacao, Ruud was there waiting to welcome her back to Curacao and into his life.
After a while, they decided to get two dogs from the shelter. That was the moment they both knew they were building a life together, a little family with two furry babies as I like to call them. While on a trip to Austria, Ruud decided to surprise her, on the top of a mountain, by asking her to marry him.
Surrounded by their friends and family, they held hands against the ocean backdrop in a place they loved, under a gazebo they had built themselves. They vowed to support each other in good and not so good times. Together they spent the night dancing and laughing, enjoying their first day as husband and wife.
Nanda & Ruud, I remember the first day we met, in the parking lot :-) I’m so happy we moved our meeting to the ice cream shop, since every other establishment in Curacao seemed to be closed on that one specific day in the year. We’re so thankful to have documented your beautiful day as your wedding photographers, shared that lovely and funny ceremony with you, the heartwarming speech that followed and met your fun and crazy friends (you know who you are!), thank you for inviting us with open arms. We’re looking forward to the diving classes ;-)
Much love, Claudia, Miguel & Romy.
Our officiant, mr DeMeij made sure there was entertainment throughout the ceremony as well.
